Education is the savior of our society

Hi. Welcome back into my hot section of what is happening around us. Few days ago, I attended a program launched by a political party in a place near Tanjung Malim. Its a program done for students who have just received their SPM examination results. the program started at 2 pm and ended at around 5.30 pm. The problem that I had with this program was, it was done with a political agenda. My concern is none but one that is to guide the students, tell them what path to be taken after SPM. Many came to seek advice at my booth. Many Indian students have big dream of becoming engineers, doctors and etc, but they often forget that their result have to be excellent in order for them to get a seat under any scholarship. But that is a different story. My story here today is about how these political leaders tend to make this as a shadow when they actually wanted to show the power of their politics. The speech given by some political leaders were really unrelated and it was too much of dragging around the bush. I mean I know what is intellectual property and so on but would 20 minutes of speech make a big difference in how these students think about life? I doubt so. Nevertheless we listened and listened and listened. The organisers were so much keen to speak on the stage rather than giving constructive tips on how to build a better prospect. The whole program was a bit of messy actually. I think in the mind of these people, talking on the stage works better than explaining one by one to these students. As a result students have less time to talk to us because its already late and people are rushing to go back home. But I did try my level best to give advice and guidance on which career path should be taken. Some were still dreaming in the sky above, and I have to pull them back to reality though some of my friends thought the way I spoke a bit harsh but hey after all I am giving advice here.  At the end of the day, what matters to these students were on what course to be taken because that is their main priority, the rest will come later once they enter the university life. So people, don’t infuse politics and education because education is a holy field and contaminating it with these agendas is not really a good thing to do.
